North Texas, in search of road win number six on the year, is starting a six-game run that will see the Mean Green play four of their final six games on the road to close the regular season.
Tip-off tonight is set for 7 p.m. from the Lakefront Arena and the game can be heard on 88.1 FM KNTU.
North Texas and New Orleans will be meeting for the 22nd time in series history. The Mean Green holds a 13-8 edge over the Privateers in the series. The Mean Green has won 8 of the past 11 meetings between the two teams.
New Orleans won the first matchup this season in Denton by 14-points, 84-70. North Texas on the road has a record of 5-5 in New Orleans. It will be the Mean Green’s first visit to Lakefront Arena since the 2004-05 season.
Amber Jackson didn’t waste too much time in breaking the all-time rebounding record against Louisiana-Lafayette. Jackson, who needed just one rebound to pass Empress Drane, grabbed that one board 16 seconds into the game.
She ended the night with nine rebounds and has 725 for her career, the most in North Texas history. Jackson is the second player in school history to score more than 1,300 points and grab over 700 rebounds in a career.
North Texas has 96 3-pointers for the season and is on the verge of hitting the century mark in 3-pointers for the third straight season. North Texas will have made at least 100 3-pointers in 9 of the past 10 seasons once they hit the century mark this season.
The school record for 3-pointers is not out of reach either this season. The record is 134, set during the 2001-02 season. North Texas is on pace for 126 3-pointers this season, which would be the second most in school history
