Game Notes For North Texas' 21st Game Of The Season
HOUSTON — North Texas plays Rice Saturday afternoon in Houston. The Mean Green and Owls have had a few tightly contested games the past two seasons and this coming one should be no different. Saturday's game will be aired live KNTU 88.1 FM and CUSA.tv.
North Texas averages 19.35 forced turnovers per game. It’s the 41st most in the country and second most in the conference
Senior Candice Adams has made 88 3-pointers. It currently is the third most 3-pointers made in consecutive games in program history. 100 by Ashley Norris (‘00) is the record.
In 20 games at North Texas, sophomore Terriell Bradley is averaging 13.1 points per game. Since 2005, no Mean Green player is averaging more for their career.
TERRA-ING IT UP
Senior Terra Ellison is shooting a team leading 49.7 percent on the season. In the games North Texas wins, Ellison is shooting 63 percent from the field. She is averaging 13 points in games they win, four more than in games that the Mean Green lose.
North Texas’ Terriell Bradley, Candice Adams, and Terra Ellison combined for 56 of the Mean Green’s 65 points versus Louisiana Tech on Jan. 21. In conference play, the trio is averaging 37.5 points per game (64 percent of the team’s points scored). The trio is averaging a combined four more points per game in games won than lost.
North Texas senior Terra Ellison went 10-for-10 at the free throw line Saturday at ODU. The last Mean Green player to go 10-for-10 or better at the line in a game was Denetra Kellum (10-10) versus Florida Atlantic on 2/3/11. Ellison is seventh North Texas women’s basketball player to shoot 100 percent from the line in a game with more than 10 attempts.
North Texas senior Terra Ellison has made 14 consecutive free throws over the past two games. Since 2005, the program record for most consecutive made free throws is 17 by Denetra Kellum in 2011.
Senior Terra Ellison has made 19 of her last 21 free throws and 14 of her last 15.
