North Texas dropped its second match in a row to Middle Tennessee in a rematch from a tight contest that saw the Blue Raiders win back in late December in Murfreesboro. The Mean Green is 6-4 in SBC play and seeking to reclaim first place in the SBC West from Arkansas State. The UALR Trojans just snapped a four-game losing streak that began with a loss to North Texas on January 9 in Little Rock. The Trojans broke the streak with a blowout win against the Owls of Florida Atlantic last Wednesday in Arkansas.
North Texas meets UALR for the first time since the Mean Green escaped Little Rock with a three-point victory over the Trojans. Both teams have gone in opposite directions since their last engagement as North Texas has gone 3-2 while UALR has gone 1-4. Overall, the last North Texas victory evened the series at 11 games apiece.
Through the first four home games of 2013, the Mean Green has started off games in Denton on a tear. The first 10 minutes of home games has seen NT outscore its opponents 80-36 including a 15-5 race out of the gates against Middle Tennessee.
