LAFAYETTE, La. - The North Texas women's basketball team is in Louisiana tonight to face the Ragin Cajuns as they look to end their two-game losing streak at the Earl. K. Long Gym. The Mean Green is one-half game behind the Ragin Cajuns entering tonight's game. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. The game is the beginning of a two-game road trip for North Texas as they will face Denver on Saturday afternoon.
Louisiana-Lafayette won the first meeting with the Mean Green this season on New Year's day with a 65-54 win at the Super Pit.
Jasmine Godbolt was held to one of her lowest scoring games in her time at North Texas by ULM, but she responded against Arkansas State with her 14th career double-double.
Godbolt, after shooting 1-for-9 against ULM, scored 21 points against Arkansas State on 8-for-16 shooting. She also hauled in 10 rebounds, the 15th time in her career she has had double figure rebound totals. It is Godbolt's fifth double-double of of the season.
An area that has been a concern for the Mean Green this season has been at the free throw line. However the last two games have been the best stretch of the year for North Texas at the line. The Mean Green has hit over 70 percent in both games, the first time they have topped 70 percent in consecutive games this season.
North Texas has connected on 71.7 percent from the line the last two games. The previous five games he Mean Green only hit 62 percent.
