Women's Basketball Returns Home For Two SBC Games

DENTON (1/26/05) - The women's basketball team returns home for two Sun Belt Conference games this week, beginning on Thursday night with South Alabama.Tipoff is set for 7 pm in the Super Pit, and all Mean Green games can be heard live on KNTU (88.1).

The Mean Green is coming off a 57-44 loss to Arkansas-Little Rock and will be trying to break its two-game losing streak. North Texas has won three straight games at home and will be after its first four-game winning streak at home since the 2001-02 season.

North Texas leads the series with South Alabama 7-2. The two teams split last season as North Texas won in Mobile and South Alabama won in Denton. The Mean Green has won four of the last five meetings with South Alabama and have a record of 4-1 in Denton against South Alabama. The Mean Green had won the first four meetings with the Jaguars in Denton until last season.

Junior guard Erika Bobo moved into ninth place all-time in steals for her career at North Texas. Bobo has 135 steals for her career and with four more steals she can move into eighth place all-time. Bobo already ranks 10th all-time in assists with 224 for her career.

Tonight is Greek Night and Saturday is Camper Night, as all children that have participated in the Tina Slinker basketball camp can wear their camp t-shirt and get into the game for free. Come early and bring the kids as the Fun Zone opens an hour prior to tip-off and is located in the concourse near Gate E. Single game tickets begin at just $3.
