Game Notes North Texas' 19th Game Of The Season
DENTON -- The North Texas women's basketball team (6-12, 3-4 C-USA) is off to Charlotte to take on the 49ers (14-4, 6-1 C-USA) on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. CT. The game will be aired live on KNTU 88.1 FM and live streamed on CUSA.tv.
TERRA-ING IT UP
Senior Terra Ellison is shooting a team leading 52.8 percent on the season. In the games North Texas wins, Ellison is shooting 63 percent from the field. She is averaging 13 points in games they win, four more than in games that the Mean Green lose.
North Texas' Terriell Bradley, Candice Adams, and Terra Ellison combined for 56 of the Mean Green's 65 points versus Louisiana Tech on Jan. 21. In conference play, the trio is averaging 40.2 points per game (65 percent of the team's points scored).
Junior post Tosin Mabodu has started the last eight games for North Texas. In those eight games, she is shooting 68.8 percent (11-16) and is averaging 3.1 rebounds. Mabodu had just four starts in her career prior to this stretch of eight games.
Senior Candice Adams leads the team with 37 made 3-pointers. Her 45.7 3-point field goal percentage in conference play is the best in C-USA by 3.8 percent. She has made a 3-pointer in 18 consecutive games played, which is the second longest active streak in C-USA with Charlotte's Ciara Gregory owning the longest at 19. Adams made a career-high 49 3FG last year.
North Texas senior Terra Ellison leads the team with 46 rebounds in conference play. 20 of her 46 rebounds are offensive rebounds. Her 20 offensive rebounds in conference play is the ninth most. Charlotte's Nyilah Myers-Jamison has 21 offensive rebounds in conference play. Ellison has 41 offensive rebounds on the season and 66 defensive (107 total).

North Texas is 2-6 in games decided by eight points or less this season.
The Mean Green made a season-high 10 3-pointers against the Golden Eagles on Thursday Jan. 19. It's tied for the fifth most 3-pointers made in a single game in program history and the most 3-pointers made in a game since Feb. 14, 2013 at Louisiana-Monroe. The 10 3-pointers fell one shy of tying the all-time single game program record.
Candice Adams' six made 3-pointers versus Louisiana Tech on Saturday Jan. 21 set a career-high. She made 10 3-pointers in the past week, which is the most she's made in consecutive games.
North Texas will attempt to win its fourth conference game of the season. The last time they had four conference wins before the month of February was in the 2012-13 season when the Mean Green were in the Sun Belt Conference.
North Texas guard Terriell Bradley is on pace to be the first Mean Green player with 100+ made free throws in a single season since the 2009-10 season when Jasmine Godbolt and Brittney James had over 100.
North Texas had a season-high 16 assists versus Southern Miss on Jan. 19. Bradley had a career-high five assists.
Sophomore Terriell Bradley has scored 15 points in four-straight games.
Despite having two torn meniscuses, senior Candice Adams is averaging the 10th most minutes played per C-USA game (36 mpg). She played all 40 minutes at Middle Tennessee and versus Southern Miss.
North Texas senior Terra Ellison had a career best 15 rebounds versus Charlotte on Dec. 30. It's the only time in her career she had double-digit rebounding numbers.
North Texas had 41 rebounds versus Charlotte on Dec. 30. It is the second most rebounds the Mean Green have had in a game all year. 42 rebounds versus UT-Rio Grande Valley is the most.
North Texas led by 10 points after the first quarter last time they played Charlotte on Dec. 30.
North Texas had a season-high 25 tunrovers versus Charlotte on Dec. 30.
Charlotte had 62 field goal attempts versus North Texas on Dec. 30. It was the second-most attempts against the Mean Green all year.
Charlotte had just 31 rebounds versus North Texas on Dec. 30. It's the fifth fewest rebounds given up by the Mean Green this season.
North Texas has never beaten Charlotte in now six attempts.
