The men's game can be heard live on KWRD (100.7 FM) in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and is being televised locally in the Denton area by Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain.
The North Texas women (6-7, 1-0 Sun Belt) continue its three-game homestand with a battle against the Denver Pioneers (2-11, 0-1) before facing Florida International on Saturday night. North Texas began the homestand with a 63-55 win over New Mexico State to begin Sun Belt Conference play. North Texas will be going after its first 2-0 start in SBC play since joining the league in 2000.
Junior guard Mian Williams came into the season without scoring in double figures in a game. Williams has changed that this year by scoring in double figures in six games. She is coming off a career-high 18 points against New Mexico State and is averaging 12.3 points and shooting 45 percent from the floor in the past three games.
The North Texas men (8-4, 1-0) has won five of its last six games, holds its best record through 12 games since the 1994-95 season and is in a tie for first place in the West Division of the Sun Belt Conference. North Texas will play its fourth consecutive road game in a string of five away from the Super Pit when it faces Denver at Magness Arena.
Junior transfer Jeffrey Simpson had the best blocking effort by any North Texas player this season at New Mexico State, finishing the game with a careeer-high six blocks. Those six blocks are the fourth most for a single game in North Texas history.
