College Station (1/2/05)- North Texas returns to the road today for the final non-conference game of the season against Texas A&M at 2:30 pm. The Mean Green is coming off a 59-55 loss to UTA and looks to avoid its first three-game losing streak of the season. The Aggies lead the series with North Texas, 8-4. The Mean Green has won two of the past three meetings with Texas A&M. The two teams have only played twice in the past 15 years. Texas A&M won the last meeting last season, 72-62, in College Station. Kelsie Edwards scored a career-high 20 points for North Texas in the loss. The last win by the Mean Green was a 77-72 win over the Aggies on the road in 1998. North Texas has a record of 1-6 against Texas A&M in College Station.
Junior guard Erika Bobo scored her 500th career point against UTA as she poured in 15 points. Bobo now has 513 points for her career. Bobo has increased her scoring average to 12.8 points a game this season from 6.8 points a game through her first two seasons. She has also moved past Kim Blanton into 11th place all-time with 120 steals. Bobo has also improved her field goal percentage from 33 percent her first two years to 41 percent this season. Bobo has also scored in double figures in nine of the 11 games this season for North Texas.
