DENTON -- Both North Texas and Marshall were looking to snap losing streaks and enter next week's Conference USA conference tournament on a positive note. The game went down to the wire, and the Thundering Herd women's basketball team came out the winners with a 60-57 victory on Saturday afternoon in the Super Pit.

"We need to take care of the ball," North Texas head coach Jalie Mitchell said. "I think that is a huge thing for us. I thought early on we had a few good opportunities that we missed with turnovers."

Marshall snapped a nine-game losing streak behind 37.7 percent shooting from the field and eight 3-pointers in the game. The Thundering Herd were down early but moved to a zone that was effective against the Mean Green.
