NORFOLK, VA. -- North Texas spoiled Old Dominion's senior night by erasing an 18-point third quarter deficit to win 55-52 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center Thursday night. With the win, the Mean Green secure the program's first winning season in 12 years.

For the seventh straight game, Terriell Bradley led all scorers as she scored 23 points and led the UNT comeback by scoring 17 points and making eight of nine at the free throw line in the second half.

"Our defense and offense wasn't up to par to start the game but what we talked about at halftime is that the game isn't over," said head coach Jalie Mitchell. "We made sure that if we're going to go down we're going to go down fighting. I'm really proud of our team."

North Texas (15-10, 6-7 C-USA) trailed by 18 with 6:52 left in the third quarter.

The Mean Green went on a 5-0 run that didn't seem like much at the time but it started a 13-2 two-minute run that began a shift in momentum.

UNT gave its biggest blow with five minutes left in the game.

In transition, Bradley sunk a 26-foot 3-pointer that drew North Texas within four points and started a 13-0 run. During that run, North Texas took its first lead of the game with 1:37 left.

"I had a lot of space so I shot it," said Bradley who was 1-of-2 from deep Thursday night. "I didn't realize how deep I was. I just saw the basket."

The 13-0 run erased what had been a horrific first-half for the Mean Green offensively and defensively.

It took UNT eight minutes and 29 seconds to score its first points in the game, by then ODU (8-20, 6-8 C-USA) had already scored 11.

A nine-point first quarter deficit grew to 14 at halftime as the Mean Green had no answer for the ODU posts. The Monarchs scored 18 of their 30 first-half points in the paint and got everything they wanted close to the rim.

"We weren't playing our best to start the game," Bradley said. "We had to pick it up defensively and we did."

The Mean Green got ODU in foul trouble and came through at the free throw line in the second-half, making 10-of-10 in the fourth quarter.

On defense, UNT suffocated the Monarchs, forcing nine fourth quarter turnovers -- 25 in the game. Freshman Lauren Holmes forced two key turnovers in the games final two minutes to secure the win for UNT.

North Texas has a quick turnaround as they return to the Super Pit on Saturday for a 7 p.m. tip-off against Marshall.
