Mean Joe Greene attending Dallas Coaches Caravan
Former North Texas and Pittsburgh Steeler standout Mean Joe Greene will attend the Dallas Coaches Caravan May 12th at the Hilton Lincoln Centre. Greene is a North Texas, College Football and National Football League Hall of Famer who has been hailed as one of the best defensive players to ever play the game. His dominance on the field at North Texas from 1966-68 led him to become the fourth overall pick of the 1969 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Greene went on to play 13 years for the Steelers where he helped his team win four Super Bowls and was a 10-time Pro Bowl selection.
The Dallas Coaches Caravan will take place on Thursday, May 12th from 6-8 p.m. at the Hilton Lincoln Centre in Dallas (5410 LBJ Freeway). It will be the second of five stops for the Caravan, which will also host events in Denton (May 10), Plano (May 17), Fort Worth (May 18) and Grand Prairie (May 19). New Head Football Coach Dan McCarney and Men's Basketball Head Coach Johnny Jones are scheduled to speak at all five of the Caravan events and additional Mean Green coaches will also be in attendance. The event is hosted by the Mean Green Club, but is free and open to the public. There will be free food and non-alcoholic beverages available.
