Baker To Discuss NT Athletics' Future At Coaches Caravan

April 19, 2017

DENTON - Vice President For Intercollegiate Athletics and director of athletics Wren Baker will discuss his plans for North Texas athletics at the 2017 Coaches Caravan in May.

North Texas athletics underwent a major facelift of its facilities beginning in 2005, when the Athletic Center was opened. Construction continued with the new Academic Center and the Victory Hall dorm, accelerated with new softball, soccer, volleyball and tennis venues and new indoor softball and golf practice facilities, and culminated in 2011 with the opening of Apogee Stadium.

Since then there have been upgrades, updates and the addition of the indoor basketball practice facility, but Baker, who is approaching his one-year anniversary on the job, is poised to lead UNT into a new phase of expansion. Fans will get the chance to hear Baker talk about those plans at the coaches' caravan.

The caravan also offers fans an opportunity to speak with Mean Green coaches, which this year includes new men's basketball coach Grant McCasland, football coach Seth Littrell and women's basketball coach Jalie Mitchell.

There will be six caravan stops this year, beginning at a location familiar to long-time caravan attendees, Park Place Lexus in Plano. All caravan stops will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Here is the full schedule:
