Junior Shoots Season Low Score in Final Round of Del Walker

Long Beach, CA (11-05-04) Led by junior Andreas Kali’s lowest round of the year, the North Texas Men’s Golf Team rallied in the final day to finish in a tie for 11th place at the Del Walker Intercollegiate.


Kali shot a two under par 69 in the final round held at the Virginia Country Club to finish in a tie for 14th place. Kali had first day scores of 77 and 72, and ended the team’s final tournament of the fall season at five over par.


As a team, the Mean Green shot a final round 299 to finish in a tie with CSU-Northridge for 11th place.


Jason Lindgren had rounds of 73, 74 and 77 to finish in 11 strokes over par in 36th place.


Raul Lemus, who posted scores of 77, 72 and 76, finished 12 shots over par in a tie for 37th place, and Austin Welch finished in 61st place with scores of 81, 81 and 79.


Anthony Broussard was disqualified after the first round, but shot a 79 and 77 in the final two.


The Mean Green will take the winter off and return to action on February 7, 2005 at the Rice Invitational in Houston.
