LONG BEACH, Calf. (11/4/05) Senior Andreas Kali had four birdies in the final round of play to lead the North Texas men’s golf team at the Del Walker Intercollegiate. Kali shot had a 1-over par 72 in the final round and was 1-over par for the tournament to finish in a tie for 14th place.
Sophomore Anthony Broussard shot a 2-under par 69 in the final round thanks in part to four birdies and had a three-round score of 216. Broussard has now shot three rounds under 70 this year.
“I think that we got better in some areas as a team but we still have a ways to go,” said North Texas head coach Jim Bob Jackson. “Andreas and Anthony played well and I think we are starting to get more consistent as a team. We got better in each round and made some strides and I’m encouraged heading into the spring season”.
The Mean Green shot a 292 in the third round and finished in 11th place.
Senior Jason Lindgren shot a 5-over par 76 in the third round and had a score of 223 for the tournament. Freshman Harris Graham continued to improve his score each round as he closed with a 4-over par 75 in the third round. Sophomore Raul Lemus shot a 77 for the third round and was at 229 for the tournament.
North Texas has concluded its fall schedule and will resume play in the spring with the first tournament set for February 19-20.
The Mean Green will host the Club De Golf Santa Anita NT Classic from Guadalajara, Mexico.
