LONG BEACH, Calf. (11/3/05) Senior’s Jason Lindgren and Andreas Kali fired season-low rounds to lead the North Texas men’s golf team at the first day of the Del Walker Intercollegiate. Lindgren shot a 3-under par 68 in the second round while Kali shot back-to-back rounds of even-par 71.
Lindgren had three birdies and an eagle on the 18th hole in the second round as he rebounded from an opening round of 79. He currently sits with a two-round of 147.
Sophomore Anthony Broussard led the way in the opening round with four birdies to shoot a 1-under par 70. Broussard struggled in the second round with a 6-over par 77 and is at 147 after two rounds.
Kali’s first round included four birdies and he is tied for 12th place heading into the final round.
Sophomore Raul Lemus rebounded from a tough opening nine holes to collect three birdies on the back nine and finish at 5-over par 76 in the first round. Lemus followed up with a second round of 76 and has a two-round score of 152. Freshman Harris Graham shot a 78 in the first round and an 86 in the second round.
North Texas as a team shot an 8-over par 587 and is in 10th place heading into the final round. North Texas cut three strokes off their first round score to shoot a second round score of 292.
The final round begins tomorrow with a shotgun start at 7:00 a.m.
