CHOUDRANT, La. (10/18/05) Senior Andreas Kali and sophomore Raul Lemus both shot final rounds of 2-over par to lead the North Texas men’s golf team at the final round of the Louisiana Tech Squire Creek Classic.
Sophomore Anthony Broussard had a difficult time in the final round after starting the final 18 holes tied for third place, just four shots behind the leaders. Broussard shot a 5-over par 77 and closed out the tournament at 2-over par 218.
“We got off to a slow start and we were just unable to dig ourselves out of that hole the entire tournament,” said North Texas head coach Jim Bob Jackson. “We hit some good shots but we are still playing too inconsistent right now and making too many mistakes”.
Lemus fired a three-round score of 225 while Kali was two shots behind at 227. Jason Lindgren was 4-over par in the final round and had a tournament score of 229. Freshman Harris Graham shot a 78 in the third round and had a score of 236 for the tournament.
The Mean Green as a team finished tied for 14th place.
North Texas will close out the fall schedule on Nov. 3-4 at the Del Walker Classic from Long Beach Calf.
