Mean Green In Fourth After 36 Holes

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - It is a tightly packed leaderboard after the first 36 holes as the North Texas men's golf team sits in fourth place after the first two rounds of the Lone Star Invitational.

The Mean Green shot a 291 in the opening round and then a 1-under par 287 in the second round to sit at 578 after 36 holes. North Texas is 2-over par, one shot behind Notre Dame and Weber State, and nine-shots behind the clubhouse leader UTA.

A trio of players for the Mean Green is tied for 11th place after the first two rounds. Josh Jones, Carlos Ortiz, and Rodolfo Cazaubon are all even-par 144. Jones shot a second round of 3-under par  69, Cazaubon a 2-under par 70 in the first round, and Ortiz opened with a 1-under par 71 finished with a 1-over par 73.

Curtis Donahoe and Marco Scarola are both tied for 41st place after two rounds in which both players posted a 150. Donahoe rebounded from an opening round of 79 with a 1-under par 71. Scarola shot back-to-back rounds of 75.

The final round begins tomorrow morning from the Briggs Ranch Golf Course.
