LONG BEACH, Calf. (10/17/08) Senior Clarke Kincaid shot a steady final round of even-par to lead the North Texas men’s golf team at the Del Walker Intercollegiate. Kincaid fired a final round of 71, with two birdies, two bogeys, and 14 pars to notch a three-round score of 216.
Freshman Ben Hargis and Lance Byars were not far behind.
Hargis put on his best display of golf in the fall with a three-round score of 219 with a final round of 74. He had perhaps the wildest day for a Mean Green golfer with four birdies, five bogeys, and eight pars.
Byars carded a final round of 75 to finish tied with Hargis in the tournament. Dustin Thompson, playing for the first time this fall, shot a third round of 76 and Michel Lee closed with a final round of 77.
North Texas as a team finished in 12th place with a three-round score of 880. Colorado State won the team championship.
