ST. CHARLES, MO (10/12/04) - The North Texas Men's Golf Team fell into a tie for ninth place following the rainy final round of the Missouri Bluffs Challenge.
The Mean Green had rounds of 296, 292 and 305 to finish 41 over par.
"We played poorly for the second tournament in a row. I haven't quite figured out what makes this team tick, but we definitely have some work to do," said head coach Jim Bob Jackson. "I was proud of the way the freshmen played, but for some reason we aren't clicking on all cylinders."
Freshmen Anthony Broussard and Raul Lemus led the Mean Green while playing some of their best golf since joining the program. Broussard had rounds of 74, 70 and 75 to finish in a tie for 24th place. Lemus finished in 41st place after rounds of 75, 70 and 79.
Junior Andreas Kali finished in a tie for 42nd place with scores of 70, 77, and 78, while Reid McPherson had rounds of 77, 80 and 74 to finish in a tie or 58th place.
Jason Lindgren rounded out the field for the Mean Green with scores of 81, 75 and 78 to finish in a tie for 62nd place.
The Mean Green will return to the course on October 18 for the Squire Creek Intercollegiate held in Choudant, La.
