ST. CHARLES, Mo. (10/10/05) Sophomore Anthony Broussard fired a second round score of 2-under par to lead the North Texas men’s golf team in the first day of the Missouri Bluffs Challenge.
Broussard rebounded from an opening round of 2-over par, 74 to close out the first day just 1-over par 143. Austin Welch was just one shot behind Broussard after an opening round of 74 and then a second round of 1-under par 70.
“We didn’t play as well as we are capable in the first round, but Anthony and Austin came out in the second round and really competed,” said North Texas head coach Jim Bob Jackson.
Sophomore Raul Lemus fired a 1-over 72 in the first round and closed out with a 75 in the second round to finish the day at 5-over par 147.
KT Livingston shot a first round of 76 and a second round score of 75. He sits with a two-round score of 151.
Harris Graham made a strong comeback in the second round with a 1-over par 72 following an opening round of 83.
North Texas shot 296 as a team in the first round but shaved 10 strokes off that score in the second round to shoot a 2-over par 286.
The final round of the Missouri Bluffs Challenge will begin tomorrow with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
