Donahoe Leads Mean Green In The Final Round

RUSTON, La. (10/6/09) - The North Texas men's golf team wrapped up a difficult tournament with the final round of the LA Tech Squire Creek Classic today as they finished in 14th place. The Mean Green never got on track in the difficult conditions and closed with a final round of 301.

Freshman Curtis Donahoe turned in his best tournament of the year as he posted the low score for the Mean Green with a 4-over par 220. Donahoe finished tied for 28th place and had the only under par round of the tournament for North Texas.

Peter Fallon and Ben Hargis had the low rounds of the day for North Texas as they both carded 1-over par rounds of 73. Fallon shot a 221 for the tournament while Hargis had a 226. Luis Lemus and Dustin Thompson both struggled as Lemus fired a third-round of 80 while Thompson shot a 79. The pair finished tied for the tournament at 234.

New Orleans captured the team title as they pulled away from the rest of the field to win by nine strokes.

The Mean Green has three weeks off to prepare for the final fall tournament of the season at the Herb Wimberly Classic Oct. 26-27.
