Mean Green Open David Toms Intercollegiate Friday Afternoon
Tournament Pushed Up One Day Due To Expected Inclement Weather In Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana - The North Texas men's golf team opens its third tournament of the fall season on Friday at the David Toms Intercollegiate, hosted by LSU at The University Club, a par 72, 7,220-yard course. The tournament has been pushed forward a day to Friday due to inclement weather that is expected Sunday.
"We have a lot of confidence going into the LSU tournament," head coach Brad Stracke said. "I believe that we are well-prepared to play some exceptional golf this week."
The five-man lineup comprised of junior Jordan Sanders, freshman Vitek Novak, junior Ian Snyman, freshman Viktor Forslund and junior Thomas Rosenmueller will open the tournament with round one on Friday afternoon, finishing with the final two rounds Saturday. Additionally, senior Andrew Hudson will participate as an individual.
North Texas will face off against event hosts LSU, Central Arkansas, Louisiana Tech, Lynn, McNeese State, Navy, New Orleans, Nicholls State, Oral Roberts, Pennsylvania, Southeastern Louisiana and Southern Illinois. The Mean Green golfers are slated to tee off on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. CT, following a practice round that morning, and fans can follow all of the action with live results here, courtesy of Golfstat.com.
