BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (9/30/08) Three players finished in the top 20 for the North Texas men’s golf team as play wrapped up today at the ORU Shootout. Clarke Kincaid, Nathan Sheen, and Michael Lee paced the Mean Green as the trio finished in the top 20.
North Texas as a team finished in a tie for seventh place with the host Oral Roberts. The Mean Green shot a final round of 315 and posted a tournament score of 920.
“We showed some signs of what we are capable of out there during this tournament but we still have a lot of work to do to get better,” said coach Jim Bob Jackson. “We need more consistency and we have the ability to be a very good team but right now we just need to keep working hard and the results will come”.
Kincaid ended the tournament tied for 17th place with a three-round score of 227. He shot a final round of 79. Sheen and Lee both were tied for 19th place with tournament scores of 228, one stroke behind Kincaid.
Harris Graham a difficult final round as he shot an 83 and freshman Ash Crawford playing in only his second collegiate tournament had a three round score of 261.
The Mean Green is back in action on Oct. 15-16 at the Del Walker Intercollegiate in Long Beach, Calf.
