NEWPORT, RI (9/27/04) - The Mean Green Men’s Golf team opened up play at the Adam’s Cup of Newport Cleveland Golf Classic and sits in 13th place after the first day of action.
The Mean Green had rounds of 311 and 308 for a total of 42 over par 618. North Texas Head coach Jim Bob Jackson said the team is eager to rebound in tomorrow’s final round.
“It was a long day on the course today for the Mean Green. Nobody played good but we still have another day and hopefully we will bounce back,” Jackson said.
North Texas was led by Andreas Kali-Nilsson who is tied for 25th with rounds of 74-77 for a total of 151.
Anthony Broussard is tied for 33rd after shooting a 153 with rounds of 78-75, and Jason Lindgren is tied for 50th after shooting 79-77 for a total of 156.
Reid McPherson is tied for 57th with rounds of 80-78 for a two round total of 158.
Rounding out the field for the Mean Green was Brian Hatter, who shot a 168 with rounds of 85-83.
The Mean Green will return to action tomorrow morning for the final round of the tournament.
