BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Senior Rodolfo Cazaubon is atop the leaderboard after shooting a 6-under par 138 after the first two rounds of the Graeme McDowell Shoal Creek Invitational. Cazaubon shot a 4-under par 68 in the opening round and followed that up with a 2-under par 70 in the second round as he takes a one-shot into the final round.
The Mean Green as a team is alone in sixth place after the opening round at 5-over par after 36 holes of play. Cazaubon had 10 birdies in two rounds of golf and is going after his first ever individual win in his career. Cazaubon is at 138 after 36 holes.
Carlos Ortiz is tied for 13th place after the first two rounds after a 1-under par 71 in the second round. Ortiz had three birdies in his second round and only two bogeys. He bounced back from an opening round of 2-over par 74.
Senior Curtis Donahoe is tied for 30th place after two rounds after shooting a 73 and 76. Marco Scarola is one stroke behind Donahoe with a two round score of 150. Scarola opened with a 73 but fell back with a second round of 77. He was 1-under par in the first round until a double bogey on the par-5 seventh hole but him back at over par.
Sophomore Jason Roets shot a 79 in the first round and a second round of 76. North Texas shot an even-par score of 288 in the first round and a 5-over par 293, but the Mean Green is only 10 strokes behind the clubhouse leader Houston heading into the final round.
