Former Golfer In Quarterfinals At U.S. Mid Am
DENTON, Texas - Former North Texas All-American golf Mike McCaffrey has moved into the quarterfinals at the 2011 USGA Mid-Amateur Championship.
DENTON, Texas - Former North Texas All-American golf Mike McCaffrey has moved into the quarterfinals at the 2011 USGA Mid-Amateur Championship. McCaffrey, who was a two-time All-American for the Mean Green in 1991 and 1992, was the medalist at the event in stroke play at 8-under par.
As the tourney progressed into match play, McCaffrey continued to roll, winning his first match in 20 holes, his second round match in 3 and 2, and then he turned in a dominating performance in the round of 16 winning his match in 7 and 6.
McCaffrey plays in the quarterfinals today at 7:30 at the Shadow Hawk Golf Club in Richmond, Texas.
