Sheen Has Career-Best Round In Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. (9/16/08) It was a career-day for senior golfer Nathan Sheen as he fired a career-low round of 1-under par 71 to pace the North Texas men’s golf team at the final day of the Kansas Invitational . Sheen fired an even-par 216 for the tournament and finished tied for fourth place, a career best finish for him at North Texas.

North Texas as a team closed out the final round with a 303 and finished in 10th place in the field of 16 teams. The Mean Green was five shots behind Rice and Nebraska while UC-Davis ran away from the field to capture the team title.

Sheen finished the tournament tied at 1-under in par 3 scoring to go along with nine birdies for the three rounds.

Clarke Kincaid was tied for 28th after a third round score of 76.  Kincaid posted an 8-over par 224. Harris Graham shot a 228 after a third round of 78. Lance Byars rebounded to shoot a 78 in the third round while Michel Lee continued his struggles with a final round of 84.

North Texas is next in action on Sept. 29-30 at the ORU Shootout.
