Mean Green Golf Leads Heading Into Final Round




LANTANA, TX - The North Texas Men's Golf team is leading by five strokes after two rounds of play at the Cobb/Ferrell Mean Green Classic at the Lantana Golf Club.

 

The Mean Green, the defending champions of the tournament, were led by Reid McPherson and Andreas Kali-Nilsson who are both tied for third place out of a field of 75 golfers.

 

McPherson shot a team low 69 in the first round, tying a personal best, and followed that up with a 73 in the second to bring his total to a two under par 142.

 

Kali-Nilsson also shot a two under par 142 with rounds of 70 and 72.

 

Jason Lindgren and Anthony Broussard are tied for 12th with a one over par 145 following Monday's competition.

 

Lindgren tied a personal best round of 71 in the morning and shot a 74 in the afternoon. Broussard, a freshman, shot a 73 and 72 in his first competition for North Texas.

 

Brian Hatter rounded out the field for the Mean Green with rounds of 74 and 75 to bring his total to five over par 149.

The 14 school field will return to Lantana tomorrow morning for the final round of play in the tournament.
