Snyman Earns All-Region Honor

May 29, 2018

STILLWATER, Okla. - The list of honors for UNT junior Ian Snyman continued piling up Tuesday as he was named a Division I PING All-Region selection by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Snyman was named to the Central team as players were selected from six regions across the country - Northeast, Southeast, East, Midwest, Central and West. It's the first all-region selection of Snyman's decorated career, which came to an end at the NCAA Norman Regional earlier this month.

"I'm proud of Ian and his performance this year," UNT coach Brad Stracke said. "He has represented himself, UNT and the coaches with class throughout his career."

Snyman was named the Conference USA Golfer of the Year earlier this month along with nabbing first-team all-conference honors for the second straight year. As a freshman two years ago, Snyman was named the C-USA Freshman of the Year and to the second team.

Snyman, who finished the year ranked No. 60 in the GolfStat national rankings, had seven top-20 finishes in 10 starts this season and had a team-best stroke average of 71.66.
