Former NT Great Cazaubon Wins On PGA Tour Latinoamérica
Mean Green Great Captures His First Professional Win
DENTON -- While the Mean Green golf team has been busy racking up titles, some of its former greats have been doing likewise. Rodolfo Cazaubon won his first professional event over the weekend as he captured the Lexus Panama Classic on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica.
Cazaubon held off the field to win by two strokes with a final round of 3-under par. He finished the week at 12-under par.
With this victory, Cazaubón moved up to second place on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica Order of Merit. He has collected $42,875 in three starts and trails only Argentina's Tommy Cocha, who has season earnings for $63,992. Cazaubon has three top-10 finishes this season.
Last season, Cazaubón finished 23rd on the Order of Merit, with a trio of top 10s that included a tie for second at the Mundo Maya Open. He improved his pace this season, collecting a sixth-place finish at the season-opening Avianca Colombia Open and a ninth-place finish at the Mazatlan Open.
Cazaubon helped lead North Texas to two conference titles, was a four-time all-conference player and earned All-America honors his senior season after advancing to the NCAA Finals.
