MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. - The blustery conditions caught up to the North Texas men's golf team in the second round as they fired a 307 and fell into a tie for fourth place at the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
The Mean Green is tied with ULM at 598 and 12 shots off the lead of Middle Tennessee heading into the final round.
Freshman Rodolfo Cazaubon had the best day for North Texas with a 1-over par 73 as he was able to card two birdies on the afternoon. Cazaubon is tied for third place with a 36-hole score of 145. He is eight strokes behind the leader, Oscar Zetterwall of New Orleans.
Freshman Carlos Ortiz, who sizzled with an opening round of 64, struggled in his second round with an 83. Ortiz still remains tied for 11th place with a 147 through two-rounds. Marco Scarola shot a 4-over par 76 and has a score of 155 after 36 holes.
Senior's Peter Fallon and Dustin Thompson shot 80 and 78 in the second round.
