Ortiz Leads North Texas In After 36 Holes

COLUMBUS, Ohio - It was a bit of a frustrating afternoon for the North Texas men's golf team as they sit in ninth place after first two rounds of the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. The Mean Green shot a 300 and 302 in the first two rounds on the Scarlet Course to post of 602.

Freshman Carlos Ortiz had the best two rounds as he shot a 3-over par 145 and he is tied for 10th place. Ortiz had two birdies and 14 pars in his opening round as he shot a 72 and had an eagle in his second round to shoot a 73.

Fellow freshman Rodolfo Cazaubon had an up and down day. He is tied for 29th place after shooting a 7-over par through the first two rounds. Cazaubon had three birdies in his opening round and two in his second round.

Freshman Marco Scarola had rounds of 76 and 78 while Peter Fallon and Dustin Thompson both had tough days. Scarola fired a 154, Fallon shot a 156,  and Thompson a 158 after 36 holes.

The final round begins tomorrow morning.
