Mean Green Tied For Sixth Place After The First Day

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (4/7/08)- Anthony Broussard continued his late season surge as he fired a 3-under par 137 to lead the North Texas men’s golf team at the opening day of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic. Broussard shot rounds of 68 and 69 and is three shots off the lead heading into the final round. North Texas as a team is tied for 6th place at 5-over par but in contention heading into the final round.

Ben Smock is 1-over par after the first day with rounds of 70 and 71 to post a 141. He is tied for 26th place.

Michael Lee, playing in just his third event this season, shot back-to-back rounds of 71 and is 2-over par after the first day. Cole Howard shot a 1-under par 69 in the first round but fell back in the second round with a 76. Dustin Thompson had the toughest day for North Texas as he shot a 76 and a 78 in his opening two rounds of play.

The final round of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic begins tomorrow morning at 7:45 a.m.
