Snyman Collects Second C-USA Men’s Golfer Of The Week Honor

DENTON -- Freshman Ian Snyman posted his third top-10 finish at the highly ranked Aggie invite last weekend helping him earn his second Conference USA men’s golfer of the week award, announced Wednesday.

Snyman finished tied for eighth against stellar competition at the Aggie Invitational over the weekend posting scores of 70-67-79 for a two-day total of 216. The South Africa native, shot a career-best 67 in the second round and his eighth-place finish was ahead of 10 individuals in Golfstat’s top-100.

Snyman helped the team finish in fourth place beating out several ranked opponents, including in-state rivals Texas A&M (No. 27), Baylor (No. 28) and Texas Tech (No. 36). Snyman has played in all nine tournaments and is currently second on the team with a 73.62 scoring average in 27 rounds.

The Mean Green will be back on the course Monday, April 11 at the Jim West Intercollegiate held in Bastrop, Texas.
