MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (4/1/08) Senior Anthony Broussard is rounding his game into form as he posted his second straight top five finish to lead the Mean Green in the final round of the Aldila Intercollegiate. Broussard was one of only five players to shoot under par for the tournament as he carded a 1-under par 215 and finished tied for third place.
This is the third top 10 finish of the season for Broussard as it comes on the heels of his fifth place finish two weeks ago at the Border Olympics.
The Mean Green as a team had its best round of the tournament as they shot a 2-over par 290 and finished in 8th place. Cole Howard had the best round of the day for the Mean Green with a 2-under par 70 and improved to finish 23rd for the tournament.
Ben Smock had his best day of the event with an even-par round of 72 while Dustin Thompson shot a 3-over par 75. Smock and Thompson both fired 225 for the tournament. Freshman Luis Lemus had a difficult final round with a 79 as he shot a three-round score of 231.
North Texas has one final tune-up next week at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic before the Sun Belt Conference Championship in three weeks.
