Mean Green Tee Off At Valspar Collegiate Invitational Sunday
North Texas Faces Strong Field In Palm City, Florida
PALM CITY, Florida - The North Texas men's golf team is set to begin its fourth tournament of the spring Sunday, at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Houston at the Floridian National Golf Club. Nine of the 14 teams competing in Palm City, Florida, rank inside of the Golfstat Top 50, with five teams sitting in the top 23 nationally.
The five-man lineup comprised of senior Cory Churchman, sophomore Ian Snyman, sophomore Thomas Rosenmueller, as well as sophomores Trent Hill, and Devin Jackson, will open the three-day event on Sunday, March 19, carrying through Tuesday, March 21. The five Mean Green golfers are slated to tee off in round one on Sunday morning at 12:30 p.m. CT and fans can follow all of the action with live results here, courtesy of Golfstat.com.
The three-day, 54-hole event will open with one round each day, beginning Sunday, and carrying through the final round Tuesday.
The Mean Green (No. 71 according to Golfstat) will compete against a very deep and talented field, including host Houston (No. 49), Arkansas (No. 23), Florida State (No. 30), Georgia Tech (No. 27), LSU (No. 12), Memphis (No. 125), Minnesota (No. 79), Oklahoma State (No. 3), South Carolina (No. 33), South Florida (No. 60), Texas (No. 18) and Texas A&M (No. 14).
