Donahoe And Cazaubon Shoot 68 In 2nd Round

GOODYEAR, Ariz. - It was another round of 8-under par for the North Texas men's golf team but they remain in sixth place after two days at the 2011 Desert Shootout. The Mean Green was led by Rodolfo Cazaubon and Curtis Donahoe who posted 4-under par rounds of 68.

North Texas is at 560 for the tournament, 16 shots behind the leader Oklahoma after 36 holes.

Cazaubon inched his way into the top-5 with his second straight round of 68 as he is at 8-under par for the tournament and tied for fifth.  He is four shots off the lead heading into the final round. Donahoe moved into the top-25 with his 68 on the day as he is 4-under par for the tournament at 140. Donahoe is tied for 22nd.

Carlos Ortiz, who was tied for the clubhouse lead yesterday, shot an even-par round of 72 and fell into a tie for 10th place. He remains 6-under par at 138 through 36 holes.

Ty Spinella cut two strokes off his round from yesterday with an even-par round of 72 while Josh Jones posted a 76 in his second round. Spinella is tied for 55th and Jones tied for 80th.

North Texas is one shot behind BYU, three behind Saint Mary's, four strokes off Iowa State, and seven from TCU. OU is at 544 to hold the lead after two rounds of play.

The final round begins tomorrow morning.
