North Texas Rounds Out Play In Louisiana

LAFAYETTE, La. (3/7/06) Sophomore’s Raul Lemus and Anthony Broussard led the way for the North Texas men’s golf team in the final round of the Louisiana Classic from the Oakbourne Country Club.


Lemus shot a final round of even-par 72 while Broussard had a 2-over par 74 in the third round. The Mean Green as a team posted a final round of 300 and closed in 12th place with a three-round score of 892.


“Overall I’m not satisfied with the way that we played, but I am encouraged with what I’m seeing from some of our guys,” said North Texas head coach Jim Bob Jackson. “If we keep working hard the results are going to come for us”.


Broussard and Austin Welch led the Mean Green individually with three-round scores of 222 and finished tied for 47th place. Following his final round of 72,


Lemus posted a three-round score of 225. Senior Jason Lindgren fired a 78 in the third round and freshman Harris Graham came in with a final round of 81.


North Texas returns to action on March 16-18 at the Border Olympics.
