DADE CITY, Fla. - Carlos Ortiz and Ty Spinella had top-15 finishes for the North Texas men's golf team as they finished tied for fourth place at the USF Invitational. The Mean Green shot a final round of 296 to fall into a fourth place tie with Arkansas State. Middle Tennessee captured the tournament after a final round of 287.
Ortiz fired a 1-under par round of 71 and finished at 3-under par for the tournament at 213. He was tied for 11th place after three birdies and one eagle in his final round.
Spinella notched a 2-under par round tournament after a final round of 74. Spinella bounced back after a 4-over par start to the round on the front nine to post three birdies and one eagle on the back nine. He finished in a tie for 13th place.
Rodolfo Cazaubon finished at 2-over par at 218 after a third round of 75. Cazaubon finished in a tie for 27th place.
Josh Jones and Marco Scarola shot final rounds of 76 and 78. Jones posted a three-round score of 222 while Scarola had a 230.
The Mean Green is back in action on March 11-13 at the Seminole Intercollegiate.
