WINDERMERE, Florida - The North Texas men's golf team opened competition at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Central Florida, Sunday at Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Windermere, Florida. The No. 35 (according to Golfstat) Mean Green saw some success in round one, beginning the tournament in 13th place at +15. Senior Cory Churchman led the way for North Texas, shooting a strong, one-over-par 73 Sunday.

"We had a great start today," head coach Brad Stracke said Sunday. "We are looking forward to playing the last 36 holes Monday and Tuesday. "Cory was steady today and I know this team will continue to play solid over the course of the next 36 holes."
