Munoz Notches Top-Five Finish At David Toms Intercollegiate

BATON ROUGE, La. - Led by senior Juan Munoz the North Texas men's golf team had its best performance of the fall season at the David Toms Intercollegiate. Munoz finished tied for fifth place, the second-best finish of his career while the Mean Green ended in a tie for sixth place.

Munoz shot a final-round of 3-over par 75 to notch the second top-five finish of his career. Sophomore Cory Churchman had a top-20 finish as he had the best round of the day with a 1-under par 71. Churchman had four birdies on the day to finish in a tie for 20th place.

Alejandro Villasan a shot a third-round score of 76 and finished in a tie for 33rd place. Andrew Hudson had a final round of 77 to finish tied for 47th place while Nick Rodriguez shot a third-round of 81 to finish tied for 56th place.

North Texas posted their best round of the tournament with a final round of 299. Host school LSU captured the overall team title, winning by two strokes.

The Mean Green is back in action on Oct 20-21 at the Jim River Classic.
