EDMOND, Okla. – It was a difficult second round of the C-USA men’s golf championship for North Texas as they slipped into a tie for eighth place after shooting a score of 18-over par 298. A trio of NT freshman led the Mean Green but the chances of winning their third straight conference vanished heading into the final round.
NT is tied with UTEP after two rounds, while Tulsa remains the clubhouse leader by three shots over Charlotte heading into the final round.
Freshman Nick Rodriguez continues to lead the Mean Green after 36 holes as he is tied for 15th place. Rodriguez was 3-over par in the second round as he carded three birdies and for the tournament he is at 5-over par 145.
Freshman Andrew Hudson is tied for 29th place after a second round of 75 on the day and he is at 148 for the tournament. Fellow freshman Cory Churchman is two strokes behind at 150 after 36 holes after shooting a second round of 4-over par 74. He is tied for 39th place.
Juan Munoz is alone in 51st place after a second round of 7-over par 77 while Jason Roets is tied for 63rd place after shooting a second round of 76.
