Eighteen Student-Athletes Earn Degrees

Dec. 19, 2014

DENTON - A total of 18 North Texas student-athletes graduated in the December commencement ceremonies last week.

Six different sports were represented among the graduates, including 13 football players.

Women's track athlete Charlotte Wilson earned her master's degree, while the other 17 were undergraduate degrees.

"This is what makes me proud as an athletics director," Rick Villarreal said. "It is a tremendous sense of accomplishment knowing that we played a little part in helping these student-athletes realize lifetime goals and to see the transformation and development of young people into adults ready to take on the world."

After two and a half years at North Texas, cross-country runner Silvester Harrison graduated early with a degree in biochemistry.
