#NFLMeanGreen: Week Nine In Review

Nov. 7, 2017

DENTON - Week nine of the National Football League season is in the books, and MeanGreenSports.com has you covered for 2017's ninth regular season installment of #NFLMeanGreen.

One of the three former North Texas players in the NFL saw action this past week, as New Orleans Saints linebacker Craig Robertson played well in another Saints win. Oakland Raiders fullback Jamize Olawale missed the Raiders win over the Dolphins with a hamstring injury. Los Angeles Rams running back Lance Dunbar is eligible to come off the PUP/Reserve list and has not played in any of the first eight games for the Los Angeles Rams.

Robertson's Saints (6-2) are surging, winners of six straight, this time knocking off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-6), 30-10 at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. Robertson had five tackles (three solo) in the win. Robertson is closing in on 500 career tackles, and is just 15 away from that milestone after his performance. New Orleans travels to take on the Buffalo Bills (5-3) at noon CT Sunday on Fox.

Olawale's Raiders (4-5) picked up an important win on the road in Miami over the Dolphins (4-4) 27-24. Oakland heads into their bye week looking to build on this past week’s win. Following their bye, the Raiders will host the defending Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots, live on CBS at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19.

Dunbar’s Rams (6-2) blew out the New York Giants (1-7) and tightened their grip on the NFC West. Dunbar continues to practice and the Rams now have 13 days to decide whether to reinstate the former Cowboy to the 53-man roster, or place him on season-ending injured reserve. Los Angeles hosts the Houston Texans (3-5) this week at 3:05 p.m. on CBS.

Be sure to follow the former Mean Green players in the NFL throughout the remainder of the regular season here on MeanGreenSports.com each Tuesday.
