Football Returns Home On Saturday To Face Louisiana-Lafayette

DENTON (11/3/05) - The North Texas football team returns to Fouts Field for the first time in a month when the Mean Green faces Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday night at 6 pm.

North Texas (2-5, 2-1) wrapped up non-conference play in last week’s loss to Louisiana State. The Mean Green now faces its third straight Louisiana school when Louisiana-Lafayette (3-5, 2-2) comes to Fouts Field on Saturday. The game will be televised by ESPN Regional and can be heard on the Mean Green Radio Network.

With non-conference play in the rear view mirror, the Mean Green remains in contention for its fifth-straight Sun Belt title. North Texas is second in the conference in turnover margin, and running back Patrick Cobbs leads the Sun Belt in all-purpose yards per game. Louisiana-Lafayette brings the nation’s 10th-ranked rushing offense to Fouts Field, averaging 227 yards per game. The Ragin’ Cajuns are coming off a 31-28 overtime win over Troy.

Kickoff is at 6 pm, but there is a list of events taking place prior to the game.

3:00 - Mean Green Village and the Jr. Mean Green Club Family Fun Zone open. Grammy award winning band "Brave Combo" will be playing in Mean Green Village.

4:00 - Mean Green March takes place in Mean Green Village.

4:10 - Guns & Hoses Flag football game featuring the Denton Police vs. Denton Fire departments occurs on lower field of Mean Green Village.
