Baton Rouge, La. (10/29/05) - In the matchup that was originally scheduled for Sept. 3, the Mean Green (2-4, 2-1) takes on Louisiana State (5-1, 4-1) today at 7 pm. The game was rescheduled due to the effects of Hurricane Katrina.
North Texas’ final non-conference game can be heard on the Mean Green Radio Network.The game will also be offered as part of the ESPN GamePlan package and can be seen live in Texas. It will only be available if you subscribe to GamePlan or you can buy it as a pay-per-view if you have satellite or digital cable TV.
Senior running back Patrick Cobbs broke North Texas’ career rushing record earlier this year at Kansas State and continues to set the new mark with every carry. Cobbs has rushed for 513 yards this season and his current career mark stands at 3,409, ranking him the sixth on the NCAA Div. I-A active career rushers list. Cobbs broke the school’s career rushing record which was held by Ja’Quay Wilburn who played for the Mean Green from 1997-2000. Cobbs also did it in three fewer games than Wilburn, setting the mark in his 40th game, while Wilburn did it in 43.
