Parking Plan In Place for Thursday Football Game

DENTON, Texas - In order to make way for fans and tailgating for the Mean Green's football game against Rice on Thursday, Oct. 31, North Texas students, faculty and staff will be required to vacate several parking lots early on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

North Texas, needing one more win to become bowl eligible, faces Rice on Halloween night at 6:30 p.m.

The parking lots at Victory Hall, the Mean Green Village, and Fouts Field will be used for game-day parking and tailgating, and will be closed on the following schedule:

Victory Hall Paver Lot - Students, faculty and staff must move their vehicles by 5 p.m. Wednesday, when the lot will be made available for Mean Green fans and tailgating. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed. All vehicles in this lot after 5 p.m. on Wednesday must have a Blue or Red game-day parking pass.

Victory Hall Lots 80 & 81 - Students, faculty and staff must move their vehicles out of the lot by 1 p.m. on Thursday. Towing will start after 1 p.m. for all vehicles remaining in the lot. The lot will be available for fans and tailgating for vehicles with Blue or Red parking passes beginning at 1 p.m.

Mean Green Village Lots 71-77 - Students, faculty and staff must move their vehicles out of the lot by 1 p.m. on Thursday. Towing will start after 1 p.m. for all vehicles remaining in the lot. The lot will be available for fans and game-day staff at 1 p.m.
NOTE: The North Texas soccer team will play at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. Parking and security officers will distribute special parking passes/instructions to vehicles as they arrive to park in the Mean Green Village lots. However, those parking with the special pass must be out of those lots by 4 p.m. on Thursday, or they will be towed.


 

 

Fouts Field Lot 20 - Students, faculty and staff must move their vehicles out of the lot by 1 p.m. Thursday. Towing will start after 1 p.m. for all vehicles remaining in the lot.

Those with campus-parking permits can park in the Highland Street Parking Garage without being charged.
• Take a ticket as usual to raise the gate for entry.
• The exit gates will be raised between noon Thursday and noon Friday for free exit.
• Exits prior to noon Thursday or after noon Friday will require payment.

UNT Shuttle buses will operate normally until 1 p.m. Thursday. Once the traffic control plan is implemented around 4:30, the Eagle Point route will stop operating and the North Texan route will be modified to accommodate traffic and street closures. ERide will operate as normal at 9 p.m., but calls will be restricted to the main campus and Discovery Park.
