North Texas (3-4, 3-0) will face the only Sun Belt opponent it has ever lost to when it hosts Louisiana-Monroe (3-4, 2-1) at Fouts Field in Denton on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CDT and the game will be broadcast by ESPN Regional and shown live in the Dallas/Fort Worth market on KFWD-Channel 52 with Sam Smtih and Geradie Mercer calling the action. It can also be heard live on KWRD (100.7 FM) and KNTU (88.1 FM) in Dallas/Fort Worth.
North Texas has won 21 straight Sun Belt Conference games since losing to Louisiana-Monroe in both team’s 2001 Sun Belt opener. The Mean Green is riding a current three-game win streak due in large part to impressive performances by the nation’s leading rusher, freshman Jamario Thomas. Louisiana-Monroe also started the season 0-4 and comes into the game with three straight wins. The Indians knocked off previously unbeaten Florida Atlantic in an impressive road win Saturday.
