#NFLMeanGreen - Week 7 Roundup

Oct. 24, 2016

DENTON - Three of the four former Mean Green players in the National Football league were in action in Week 7, as linebackers Zach Orr (Baltimore Ravens) and Craig Robertson (New Orleans Saints), as well as fullback Jamize Olawale (Oakland Raiders) were key for their teams, though only the Raiders were able to pick up a victory. Running back Lance Dunbar (Dallas Cowboys) did not play, as his team was on its bye.

Unfortunately for Orr, despite his strong performance, his Ravens (3-4) fell for the fourth straight week after a 24-16 loss to the New York Jets (2-5) Sunday afternoon on the road. Orr led the Ravens in tackles with a game-high 12 (seven solo). Orr is fifth in the league in tackles with 63. Baltimore heads into a much-needed bye week, as they aim to reclaim some of its early-season form that saw them open at 3-0.

Robertson's Saints (2-4) dropped a tough 27-21 decision on the road to the Kansas City Chiefs (4-2) at Arrowhead Stadium. Robertson, who remained the NFL's ninth-leading tackler (59 total stops), posted six Sunday (three solo) in the loss. The Saints now host the 4-1-1 Seattle Seahawks Sunday at noon CT on Fox.

Olawale carried three times for 12 yards for the Raiders in their 33-16 win at Jacksonville to improve to 5-2 on the season. Oakland remains in the Sunshine State this week to take on the 3-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week on Sunday at noon on CBS.

Dunbar's 5-1 Cowboys were on their bye week, which should help the former North Texas tailback in his recovery from left knee soreness that has kept him out of the last two games. Dallas hosts the 4-2 Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football in an NFC East clash at AT&T Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on NBC.

MeanGreenSports.com will continue to follow the journeys of former Mean Green players in the NFL throughout the course of the regular season with updates every Monday (or Tuesday in the event that any former players are playing on Monday Night Football).
