Listen To The North Texas/ULM Game!

DENTON, Texas (10/13/07) Listen to the North Texas football game as the Mean Green plays its second home game against ULM. Kick-off is set for 6 p.m.

The game will be televised as part of the Sun Belt package on ESPN Regional with Sam Smith and Doug Graber calling the action. It can be seen live locally in the Dallas/Fort Worth area on TXA 21. The game can also be heard on the Mean Green Radio Network with George Dunham and Hank Dickenson.

North Texas is looking for its first win of the season against a Louisiana-Monroe team that picked up its first win of the year last week against Arkansas State. The Mean Green has out-gained its opponent in total offense three times this year, but has been unable to translate that into a win.  North Texas has the Sun Belt’s top two receivers in Casey Fitzgerald (10.4 receptions per game) and Brandon Jackson (8.2 receptions per game). Louisiana-Monroe has an explosive rushing attack with the league’s leading rusher in Calvin Dawson (134.0 yards per game).

North Texas trails the all-time series with Louisiana-Monroe 11-12. The Warhawks have won the last two games against the Mean Green, including the last meeting in Denton 24-19 in 2005. Since the series began in 1978, North Texas holds a 7-4 advantage in Denton. Of the 23 games between the two teams, 10 have been decided by a touchdown or less. The winning team has averaged 29.8 points and only five times has the winning team been held to under 20 points.
